My Approach

I approach therapy from a nonjudgmental and compassionate stance, working collaboratively to establish and achieve your goals. I believe that creating a trusting relationship is the fastest way to make uncomfortable and difficult changes. Depending on your presenting problem, I provide a “skills-focused” approach, insight focused therapy, or a combination of both.

Having trained in evidence-based treatments for psychotherapy, I utilize principles & specific interventions of multiple treatment modalities. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) as frameworks for understanding and alleviating emotional suffering. I adapt these treatments based on your individual differences, including identity factors, presenting problems, life experiences, etc.

Our culture tends to stigmatize certain behaviors, traits, and emotions, and we can start to take on those beliefs as “true.” My strength lies in creating a truly non-judgmental space from which we can examine and re-evaluate these beliefs so that you can gain autonomy over your life and get back to what’s important.
